Connexions Governance Arrangements
SUMMARY
In June 2004 the Consortium Board and Management Committee merged into a single tier of governance. A number of working sub-groups were established and young people were given an enhanced role in contributing to policy development and governance issues.
BACKGROUND
The Board reviewed the current 'lead body' arrangements established through Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) and agreed that - subject to the agreement of HCC - these should be made permanent. HCC agreement was subsequently confirmed. In making this decision the Board also considered whether current governance arrangements could be streamlined to allow for the reduced formal governance requirements of this structural model.
Membership of the consortium was reviewed and the number of consortium members reduced. The number of young people on the Board was increased from two to four.
