The Hertfordshire Children's Fund
The Hertfordshire Children's Fund was launched in 1996 with the aim of giving practical help to meet the needs of disadvantaged children in Hertfordshire. They have made many grants since inception, all of which have been as a result of requests from Health Visitors, Social Workers, GPs and other professionals.
Although funds are limited, they are keen to reach even more children. A direct link with Connexions working with teenagers would therefore seem logical.
Grants of up to £200 are available and help children living in a household on a low income, some of whom may have a disability. Their response is rapid and practical, providing a variety of items from school uniform, bedding and household items to funding for summer activities.
The Hertfordshire Children's Fund is managed by the Hertfordshire Community Foundation. For more details and how to apply for a grant please go to the link below.
